The one-minute story of my life

I may have been born in Texas but I had the privilage to travel at 18 around the US.I joined a sales company, going from city to city, staying in nice hotels, and we even participated in tours that we're in different areas.I started from San Antonio,TX all the way to Wyoming,Utah,Seattle, and ended up in California. It was pretty cool to find myself and try new things & when it came to food,- traveling was my teacher.

What I like to cook
I love to cook from the heart and anything that smells good and tastes good I'll try it- as long as it's cooked.I am compfortable cooking Mexican/Spanish dishes like Spanish rice or Chilie Reyenos.I enjoy cooking beef ribs in the oven or on the grill.I also like to cook Mahi-mahi, Salmon with lime& chilies,or shrimp on a stick.I am currently on a quest for my favorite bar-b-que sause and the perfect marinade.I enjoy making something new like Japanese Sushi,Persian Ka, or Asian Stir Fry's.
Who I cook for
I grew up with a house full of women so they we're particular with healthy cooking. But now I am engaged and cooking for two men (future husband / my little son),and my little lady.Thank goodness my little girl isn't a picky eater,-she's got her momma's appetite j.k.So even though my fiance is an experienced chef, I can use my oppertunity to learn from him as well.
My greatest cooking triumph (so far)
I learned how to make tortillas from scratch.I had the mistake of using the wrong ingredient.I couldn't remember if it was baking soda or baking powder in the family recipie. So my first batch in my new home was a disaster. They came out like flat biscuits.LOL!But with more practice and patience they come out a lot better.
My worst cooking disaster (so far)
I accidentaly used turmeric in my spanish rice instead of comino. And the taste was so disgusting I vowed to never mis read the labels when I'm cooking in a hurry.
