The one-minute story of my life
Fourth-generation Seattleite, went to NYU for college and stayed there for a few years after working as a writer at a PR firm, bounced back to Seattle after a few brief stops elsewhere, did more writing, moved into editing, and now I'm editor at ManTestedRecipes.com. I'm a big sports fan, I have season tickets to the Mariners, Sounders, and University of Washington football and hoops.

What I like to cook
Whatever sounds good. I'm partial to long-cooking stews and things I can put sauce on. When it's grilling season (a short one, here in Seattle), you'll find me outside.
•
Who I cook for
Myself and whoever I can convince to eat with me. When I have friends over to watch sports, I usually work up a big pot of something.
•
My greatest cooking triumph (so far)
No contest: Thanksgiving dinner for 17. It was 2004, my first Thanksgiving in Seattle since '93, and as my family had stopped having a big Thanksgiving I decided to do it myself. Was up at 7 a.m. to peel potatoes; but it was a big success.

My worst cooking disaster (so far)
It wasn't really cooking, but the time I forgot to empty the cooler I'd brined a turkey in, and it sat there getting funky for months. Not a happy smell.
