Italian burgers

One of the best burger recipes I've ever tried. Has to be tasted to appreciate it. Serve it with your favorite condiments.

Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup Italian dressing
1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 egg
6-8 hamburger buns
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
Condiments, as desired (cheese, pickles, tomatoes, mustard, ketchup, etc.)
- 2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1 Bay Leaf (optional)
- salt & pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Pizza mix or mozzarella)
- 1 16ounce jar spaghetti sauce

Preparation method

1. In a large bowl, knead the ground beef with the italian dressing until well mixed.
2. - Form beef mixture into 4 patties
3. Serve with cheese or condiments as desired on hamburger buns.
4. - Place beef patties in pan, not quite touching; On low-medium heat, brown both sides of patties (2-4 minutes each side)
5. - Top each pattie with portion of shredded cheese
6. - Cover and simmer for approximately 10-15 minutes (until patties are cooked through)
7. Press out 6-8 patties.
8. - Heat olive oil in large skillet or saute pan
9. - Pour spaghetti sauce over and around patties (put Bay leaf in sauce if desired)
10. - In large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, basil, marjoram, oregano, and salt & pepper. Use hands to combine well
11. In a skillet or outdoor grill, cook both sides of the patties for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is thoroughly cooked.
