This is a recipe my dad got from somewhere and has used for years. It's always a big hit every time he makes them. These wings are also good baked instead of fried.
Prep: 10 mins
| Cook: 10 mins
| Extra time: 1 hour 5 mins, marinating
1.
Sprinkle the wings with 2 tablespoons of the seasoning mix. Toss to coat, then drizzle with 2 teaspoons hot sauce and 5 tablespoons melted butter. Toss again until evenly coated. Set aside to marinate at room temperature 30 minutes.
2.
Heat the frying oil to 375 degrees F.
3.
Remove the chicken wings from the refrigerator and place into a large mixing bowl 30 minutes to 1 hour before continuing with the recipe to let them come to room temperature. Meanwhile, combine the seasoning mix ingredients until evenly blended in a small bowl, and set aside.
4.
Deep fry the chicken wings until crisp and golden on the outside, and no longer pink at the bone, about 10 minutes. Drain in a paper towel-lined bowl for a few minutes. Stir the remaining butter and hot sauce together in a small bowl and set aside.
5.
After the paper towels have absorbed the oil, sprinkle the chicken wings with the remaining seasoning mix and drizzle with the butter/hot sauce mixture. Toss to coat and serve!
