Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Skin, core, and cut apples into eighths. Set apple pieces in water with lime juice to prevent browning.

In a saucepan, melt margarine or butter. Add brown and white sugars and stir until dissolved. Drain and dry the apples and add to the saucepan. Cook until the apples are just fork tender.

Take apples off stove and add to a bowl with amaretto.

Place into pie crust. Beat the egg with 1 teaspoon water, and brush the edges of the pie crust with egg wash.

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
