Season ribs with salt, pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder. Place on a large stretch of foil.

In a bowl, whisk the barbecue sauce into the apple sauce. Drizzle over ribs, turn to coat, and fold up the foil to seal the ribs in the packet. Place in refrigerator to marinate for 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat grill to high.

Grill foil packets for 1 hour, then unwrap and grill for 30 more minutes, brushing with sauce.
