Spread the bread slices with mustard and honey. Top 2 of the slices with ham, apple, and Cheddar, then set the other slices of bread on top. Spread outsides of the sandwich with butter.

Set a skillet over medium heat. Add sandwiches and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping once midway through cooking time, until both sides are lightly browned.

Slice sandwiches in half and serve.
