Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).

Combine dry ingredients and pour over apple slices in a freezer bag; add lemon juice. Toss mixture until slices are well coated.

Turn apple mixture into a pastry-lined pan, heaping in the center. Dot with butter or margarine. Add top crust, crimp edges to seal top and bottom crust together, and cut gashes for steam to escape.

Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350 degrees and bake 40 to 50 minutes longer.
