Ingredients
Makes : 1 squirt bottle
1 cup yellow mustard
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon liquid smoke

Cook: 40 mins

Mix all except soy sauce, butter and smoke in a saucepan. Simmer 30 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 more minutes.

Nickolas, the presence of mustard suggests this is from south of the Charlotte-Fayetville area, and heavily influenced by the South Carolina mustard-based sauces. Eastern North Carolina sauces are primarily vinegar, sugar, red chiles, salt and pepper. Lexington sauces ("dips") are like the eastern sauce, but usually have some tomato or ketchup in them.
