This is a mouth-watering hearty burger with a burst of bright citrusy flavor. The citrus flavors aren't overwhelming so don't shy away from trying it! This is my version of Floribbean food!

| Extra time: 30 mins, resting
1.
Combine the beef, jerk seasoning, garlic salt, and 1 tablespoon of BBQ sauce with the citrus juices and zest in a bowl. Mix well, then shape into two hamburger patties. Allow to rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before grilling.
2.
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.
3.
Cook burgers on the preheated grill for about 5 minutes; turn, top each burger with pepper jack cheese, and continue cooking until the burgers are cooked to your desired degree of doneness, about 5 minutes more for well done. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160°F
4.
Serve burgers on split buns, and top the burgers with the remaining 2 tablespoons of barbeque sauce. Top with the cooked bacon, tomato, lettuce and onion, if desired.
Tip
While the burgers are resting is a perfect time to do the prep work for the toppings - cook the bacon, slice the tomato, and onion.
