Put prepared beans in a pressure cooker; add 1 quart water. Bring to full pressure and cook for 25 minutes. Reduce pressure naturally, then drain. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours longer.
