This is a vinegar and mustard based "Carolina Style" sauce, as opposed to most ketchup and molasses based sauces. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors brings out the absolute best in grilled pork and chicken. This is the only sauce I use for my ribs!

This cake will kick ya on yer butt... 100% of the alcohol is intact, so you will feel the effect. It's VERY time consuming to make, I do a step a day, keeping it in the freezer. The recipe makes 2 cakes. The longer in the freezer the better, but take out the day or 2 before drinking (I mean eating).

Absolutely the best pecan pie ever! What's more Southern than pecan pie? How about one that only takes 5 minutes to prepare?! Pecan pie even a New Yorker can enjoy...

These burgers are a burst of wonderful flavor, as I've combined 3 items that work perfectly together.

Being born and reared in Alabama, I've learned a lot of traditional Southern recipes along the way. This burger is a Southern food smorgasbord, including beef patties prepared with dale's Seasoning, fried green tomatoes, and Alabama white sauce that I've used to dress what I call "the Southern Sampler Slaw," made with sweet potatoes, peaches, apples and Vidalia onion. And it's all sandwiched between two hoecakes. Now that's Southern cookin', y'all!

These burgers are so yummy, I am constantly asked for my recipe... probably because they are SO juicy and just plain packed with flavor.

A tasty dip that's very simple to make. Flavor comes from mustard and paprika.

If you've ever been down under and had one of these, you know how great this unlikely pile of unrelated food goes down! It's a classic Australian tradition.

This is all southern: Bacon; a good barbecue rub; mac cheese, which is a "vegetable" down south; and a Brussels sprout slaw (made with bacon grease, of course). Serve this only to the hungry.

Mushrooms, bacon strips and Monterey Jack cheese top these tender marinated chicken breasts that provide a flavorful dining experience with a just a little fuss. I get compliments whenever I serve them. They're one of my family's favorites. - M.K., Battle Ground, Washington
