California Sourdough Crab Cakes
Recipe by:
CHEFSINGLEDAD
Don't worry--these don't have eccentric California ingredients! In fact, they are very traditional. The only exception is the use of sourdough bread crumbs, which lend a fuller, tangier flavor than crackers or plain crumbs. Combine the sourdough bread crumbs with a perfect blend of spices and vegetables and lots of crab, and you have a winning combination. Make smaller cakes for appetizers, or larger ones -- like these -- for main dishes. Enjoy!

Ginger Ice Cream

WileyP
A ginger-lover's delight! Even those not all that fond of ginger will find that this is a wonderful accompaniment to fruity deserts, especially those with apples. You can adjust the strength of the ginger by adding more (or less) finely diced crystallized/candied ginger as you do the freezing. Start with 1/4 cup, then add more as desired in subsequent batches. Note: This can be made and stored in the freezer for up to a week...but it won't last that long!
Green Pea Layered Salad
Recipe by:
Chris
This recipe was developed by my Aunt Myra from Georgia and has been a mainstay throughout our large family for decades. It is a perfect side dish for potlucks, barbecues and gatherings. It can also be enjoyed as a light main course, especially in the summer when it is so refreshing. It is simultaneously crunchy and creamy and the layering makes it look nice, particularly when made in a glass bowl.
