This cake will kick ya on yer butt... 100% of the alcohol is intact, so you will feel the effect. It's VERY time consuming to make, I do a step a day, keeping it in the freezer. The recipe makes 2 cakes. The longer in the freezer the better, but take out the day or 2 before drinking (I mean eating).

Another classic cocktail, this one was named after the Algonquin Hotel in New York City, where Dorothy Parker’s group used to hang out.

You want to impress someone with an out-of-this-world culinary delight; this is the dish to use. It is not that difficult to prepare and looks awesome at presentation. It is juicy, sweet and very filling! It is listed as serves six, but it can be downsized for two, you will just have some extra dressing or you can make the full load, because they reheat in the microwave very well!

This classic cocktail was invented sometime around Prohibition, back when flying was a rare and wild thing.

For basil and garlic lovers only, this simple, fresh pasta recipe can be eaten as a meal or as a side. Make it heartier, if you wish, by adding cooked chicken, bacon or pancetta along with the white wine. I use linguine, but any good pasta will do-- remember to undercook it slightly. Add cayenne for heat. Delish.

An amazing and flavorful meal consisting of bacon cheddar mashed potatoes and barbecue ranch chicken cooked in bacon grease for a fuller flavor.

A seafood stew. It's expensive to prepare, but well worth it as a once-a-year or special occasion dish. Incredible!! It all comes together easily, so don't be intimidated by the list of ingredients. Serve with toasted baguette slices drizzled with olive oil.

First I heard of this cocktail was in Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast.” It’s a nice change of pace from a scotch and soda.

A delicious twist to salmon. The salmon is almost secondary to the delicious mixture of this sauce.

Don't worry--these don't have eccentric California ingredients! In fact, they are very traditional. The only exception is the use of sourdough bread crumbs, which lend a fuller, tangier flavor than crackers or plain crumbs. Combine the sourdough bread crumbs with a perfect blend of spices and vegetables and lots of crab, and you have a winning combination. Make smaller cakes for appetizers, or larger ones -- like these -- for main dishes. Enjoy!

This recipe is for people that love pasta. You can have it with family or cook it for your partner as romantic dinner. You can make modifications to the recipe if you do not like something like the wine or mushrooms; they can be left out and you can make a simple carbonara sauce if you would like. This recipe just adds a little spice to the standard carbonara sauce. Hope you enjoy!!! Serve with a little sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese and pepper if you would like.

I like this on pasta, but I bet it would be good served over rice as well.

A rich flavoured chicken liver pate. This takes a while to make, but well worth the effort, or so I've been told!

This is a "paraphrase" of a recipe I saw on TV. I made it according to the original and then decided to add my own changes. I've found it was better with the changes. It is basically a stuffed chicken breast, but with a different twist. The original calls for just a thin slice of ham inside the chicken breast and for a pasta salad instead of rice.
