A delicious and hearty soup with sausage, beans, and vegetables that is thick enough to make a meal! I serve this with a side of Italian bread with butter or extra virgin olive oil, oregano, toasted garlic, and basil to taste.

A good friend of ours brought this soup to us shortly after the birth of our first child. It's very hearty, simple to make, and has a wonderful flavor. An alternate method to prepare this soup is to mix all the ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 5 hours.

While trying to find the right recipe for chowder, and to use some of the various (former) water-dwelling and land-dwelling species that were in my freezer, I combined from other Allrecipes concoctions and tweaked and added to create my own chowder. The hot sausage adds an amazing zing! This rivals any fish-house chowder that you'll find! Soon to be world famous!
