You've stripped down, cranked the A/C, and downed three ice-cold beers. And you're still steaming? Time for something that cools you down as it fills you up.
This recipe (inspired by Hawaii) is quite good for hot summer days and it doesn't take too long to prepare.
My boyfriend's work pals and his boss loved it!
The best ingredients make the best burger. These ground sirloin burgers are topped with applewood smoked bacon, peanut butter and sharp Cheddar cheese, making them the best burgers around!
We used to make these in the dorm and invite a group over. Makes about 1 pitcher. We had to limit everyone to 2 at first since it would tend to hit when we thought it wouldn't. If you're really brave try to play beer pong with it.
With homemade margaritas or a beer, these are the perfect compliment to a sweltering day over the grill, and enable the gentleman to showcase fresh ingredients and culinary skills to the ladies.
Definitely a party favorite. How can you go wrong with bean dip and guacamole? I have never had the dish come home with a drop left in it.
Fast and easy gazpacho for hot summer days. Top with cilantro and tortilla chips.
Chilled coconut milk and honeydew with an infusion of mint and melon liqueur makes a delightful start to a meal. Served in a chilled small soup cup and garnished with a sprig of peppermint. Every time it gets wows! Volume varies with the size of the melon. I use 5-ounce servings.
Found this recipe dated August 21,1974 from a recipe collection my late grandmother had kept. This was a recipe given to her by her sister in-law. It is by far the best chili sauce recipe i've tasted.
The Classic Dessert Reverse Engineered! Formulated for 2 quart Ice Cream Maker!
Savory sauce for pleasing pork ribs and chicken. Cook meat tender and pour success on top later!
A very delicious smoothie that is rich and sweet. A combination of blueberries and black cherries with a little peanut butter and brown sugar; tastes great!
My father-in-law grows huge blackberries and always has tons. I tried a number of recipes and none really hit the spot. So I created this one and it worked so well that my fiance said it was the best she had ever had. Serve warm with heavy or whipped cream.
Here in Maine, we have an awful lot of blueberries in late summer. You try not to get too tired of them in pies, so here is one of the families favorites. Though a simple straightforward recipe it does take an overnight too cool properly, before it goes in your ice cream maker. You may have more mixture then your ice cream maker can handle, so don't flood it. Enjoy!
A wonderful New Orleans-style soup that is a best seller at my family-owned restaurant. Serve with crackers. I like to season my shrimp with 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire, 1 tablespoon of Season All(R), and 2 teaspoons of hot sauce (optional).
Don't worry--these don't have eccentric California ingredients! In fact, they are very traditional. The only exception is the use of sourdough bread crumbs, which lend a fuller, tangier flavor than crackers or plain crumbs. Combine the sourdough bread crumbs with a perfect blend of spices and vegetables and lots of crab, and you have a winning combination. Make smaller cakes for appetizers, or larger ones -- like these -- for main dishes. Enjoy!
This is a take off on the classic Bacon Ranch salad. My family wanted a little more zip and character. Since I first made this, it is the only recipe people want me to make for pot lucks.
Strawberries with cream and sugar in a light, fluffy dessert that will cap off your meal with a touch of class.
A nice twist to your standard shrimp salad. I made this recipe when I had tons of dill in my garden and needed something to do with it. Enjoy! :)
The ginger-snap pecan crust is what make this frozen pumpkin ice cream pie different from the others. Delicious!
An easy to make summertime salad. A favorite at our home.
