Gaining independence from England wasn't easy, but these simple recipes will make your 4th of July cookout a snap.
Absolutely the best pecan pie ever! What's more Southern than pecan pie? How about one that only takes 5 minutes to prepare?! Pecan pie even a New Yorker can enjoy...
Here in Maine, we have an awful lot of blueberries in late summer. You try not to get too tired of them in pies, so here is one of the families favorites. Though a simple straightforward recipe it does take an overnight too cool properly, before it goes in your ice cream maker. You may have more mixture then your ice cream maker can handle, so don't flood it. Enjoy!
I've been making corn on the cob like this for years. It is easy and always a hit!
Hot and spicy sauce for chicken wings or your favorite meat. Sure to clear sinuses! (Omit pepper at the end and some of the chili powder to reduce the heat, if desired.)
This is a classic three bean salad that is good for vegetarians, and meat eaters alike. My four year old will eat it, and she is not crazy about beans. So we named it after her. Allow your three bean to chill and marinate in the refrigerator for up to six hours, you can of course eat this right away. I however find that it is much better after it has had time to soak in all the flavors of the “dressing”.
2/3 pound burgers stuffed with bacon and cheese, topped with more bacon and cheese.
A simple way to make corn on the cob without the added clutter on the stove, or the added heat in your kitchen from boiling water. I usually make up several bags in advance and freeze them, sucking the air out through a small gap in the seal with a straw. Whether fresh or frozen, this corn comes out hot and delicious in minutes!
These beans make a tasty side dish for anything on the grill.
An incredibly moist and delicious meat loaf that melts in your mouth!
This is a vinegar and mustard based "Carolina Style" sauce, as opposed to most ketchup and molasses based sauces. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors brings out the absolute best in grilled pork and chicken. This is the only sauce I use for my ribs!
I love making this for all of my parties. This is my most popular recipe by far. Friends are always asking if I am making it for the my party or if I can make it for theirs'.
This is an easy recipe that can be used for a tailgate or a party. Use Hot Sausage for a little more zing.
My friends and family love these burgers. Can't go wrong: burger in one hand, cold lager in the other. Enjoy.
Burgers are all American and there are so many ways to fix them. How about a great bacon cheeseburger smothered with hot gooey peanut butter with a thick layer of Swiss cheese? Smoke it on the grill and you are in hamburger Heaven! Let’s start with a good bacon cheese burger recipe; the peanut butter is just the finishing touch.
These chewy, chocolatey brownies are perfect for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This fresh salsa is so easy, you'll wonder why you ever used to buy the canned stuff. It's very spicy, so omit some of the peppers if you're serving to a crowd that likes salsa a little more toned down.
Back in the day I had to work, it was 12-hour shifts, 7 days in a row. On Sundays when we were on daytime shifts (we worked nights, too, but not on the same week!), we'd get together and bring in a really nice dinner. This dip was always required, not just by my crew, but by the day-staffers that came in on Monday, too!
The best barbecue hamburgers ever! Meatloaf-like patties are grilled, then soaked in homemade barbecue sauce overnight. This is a great make ahead meal!
