Where's the Carne?

Straight out of Mexico, this authentically spicy and delicious shredded beef dish will take three hours to cook. So this is a great weekend afternoon project.

Have a slow cooker?
You can start this recipe in the morning, and it will be ready in time for dinner. Instead of simmering on the stovetop, throw the ingredients in the slow cooker on low and cook for at least eight hours. Your place will smell great when you get home.

Dessert

Start the custard-like flan while you are cooking the beef. Preheat the oven to 350 before starting the recipe that is pure sugar, eggs, and creamy goodness.

Beans, Rice, and Tortillas

Here's the easy part. Open a box of instant rice, measure out three cups of rice and three cups of water into a big-enough bowl, then pop it in the microwave for 5 minutos.

Then open a can of Bush's Best Traditional Refried Beans and heat them up in the microwave for about five minutes. Top will Mexican Chihuahua cheese (or sharp cheddar) and green onions.

Right before you're ready to serve, microwave the taco-size tortillas for 20 seconds. Either corn or flour tortillas will work.

Now everybody forms a food line and loads their tortilla with beef, beans and rice. Or, if you're a control freak, load it up for 'em. Good eatin!
